We launched King of Shaves at Target in 2000 and between then and 2011 we managed the business via our NYC headquartered company. In 2010 we signed a distribution agreement with the Remington division of Spectrum Brands, Inc., which saw us co-brand King of Shaves with Remington in the USA and launch our Azor 5 in Walgreens and other accounts. For reasons that I am unable to express publicly, this partnership was dissolved towards the end of 2012 and from January 1st 2013 it’ll be King of Shaves riding solo again, doing things in our own way.
This means for much of 2013 there will be a hiatus of supply regarding King of Shaves as we strategically decide how to position our successful brand in the USA. It’s never been easy for us in the USA – I’m not too sure why – as we have had an amazing following, but somehow never ‘quite’ broken through (hence us signing with Remington to see if that would help us make it work).
What I can assure our US fans of is that by 2014 we’ll have our latest and greatest King of Shaves products available again there in bricks and mortar stores.

Why are you only offering free delivery on orders worth GBP £50 and £100?
We are aware that disruption to our distribution in the USA has left many of our customers unable to order King of Shaves products from local stores. We wanted to find away to help our customers in the USA whilst we set-up a new distribution network and a local USA online store. By asking customers to make a minimum order value (GBP £50) we can help break-even on our costs by the time we have paid for the picking, packing and delivery costs.
Why is there a maximum product value of GBP £100?
It actually costs quite a lot of money to ship goods to the USA and Canada. Generally speaking, if an order of products come to GBP £50, it will then cost pretty much the same amount in courier charges to despatch those goods. So we have put a limit on the maximum order value that qualifies for free shipping to help ensure we don’t go bankrupt! And to be honest there are also some people who would, er, “take advantage” of such an offer (at our expense) to order a huge quantity of product and then re-sell them in the USA or Canada for a large profit. We wished to avoid that scenario.
Why is the offer only open for personal use?
We are working on putting in place a new distribution agreement that will specifically cater for business / commercial customers and their unique requirements. We really wanted to help ensure our personal customers had the best opportunity to still get their favourite King of Shaves products at the fairest price possible.
Why is the pricing in GBP £ and not US $?
Our current online store is based in the UK which is why pricing is in GBP £. We spoke to the developers and the time it would take to offer pricing in the US $ (let alone what it would cost) meant it would be another few months before we could offer US $ pricing. So we decided not to wait and open our UK store to USA and Canadian residents now! You can always search online for a currency convertor which will give you a good idea of what you will end-up paying. Remember orders delivered to the USA and Canada will also benefit from the removal of VAT (Value Added Tax – the UK version of sales tax) from the order total – this deduction can be seen when you view your final shopping basket total.
